Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Steps
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef, onions, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are soft.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine (if using), oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the sauce over the cooked spaghetti and garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
